AFC – Chapter 9. Classical control systems.

Learning Purposes

  1. Explain the fundamental concepts of classical control theory.
  2. Formulate the main classic control strategies: P control, PD control, PI control, PID control, lead control, lag control, and lead-lag control.
  3. Conceptually recognize the most important effects of the various classical control strategies in terms of steady state, transient performance, and the relative stability of the feedback system.
  4. Describe some design techniques for classical control systems, emphasizing the root locus method and design methods in the frequency domain.
