AFC – Chapter 4. Time domain analysis.

Learning Purposes

  1. Analyze the dynamic behavior of linear time-invariant systems based on the solutions of the differential equations in the time domain.
  2. Recognize the natural response and forced response as components of the response of a linear time-invariant system to an input signal.
  3. Define the concept of system poles.
  4. Explain the relationship between the location of the poles in the complex plane and the shape of the system’s natural response.
  5. Discuss the relationship between the transfer function of the system and the forced response.
  6. Define the concept of zeros of the system and its effect on the dynamic response of a system.
